Empower yourself to better understand, support, and care for your horse’s body. Our 2-Day Equine Owner’s Therapeutic Massage Workshop is designed for horse owners who want to reduce tension, ease discomfort, and better understand their horse’s body—whether for everyday support or to explore a future in equine bodywork.

This approachable, hands-on workshop gives you the confidence to recognize signs of tension, interpret your horse’s body language, and offer meaningful relief—right from your own barn aisle.

By the end of the weekend, you’ll have practical tools to assess what you’re feeling, understand what it means, and apply therapeutic techniques that support your horse’s comfort, mobility, and performance—while strengthening the connection you share.

Personalized, Supportive Instruction

With a maximum of 12 participants, you’ll receive individualized attention in a welcoming environment that encourages questions, confidence, and growth.

How the Workshop Works

This workshop is intentionally designed to be immersive, hands-on, and easy to fit into real life. From small group learning to flexible hosting options, every detail supports meaningful education and personalized instruction.

Duration:

Two full days, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM, allowing time to learn, practice, ask questions, and build confidence without feeling rushed.

Group Size:

Small, learning groups of 4–10 participants with a maximum 1:5 instructor ratio, so you receive individualized guidance throughout the weekend.

Tuition:

$395 per person, which includes instruction, course materials, and hands-on practice.

Location:

  • Host at your barn — perfect for barns, vet clinics, or equine programs
  • Attend at one of our Wisconsin partner facilities — equipped for an ideal learning environment

Travel expenses are covered by the host when booking at your own location.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Day 1: Foundations & Assessment

Day one focuses on understanding the why behind what you’re feeling. You’ll learn the basics of functional anatomy and biomechanics, how to observe posture and movement, and how to use your hands to assess areas of tension or restriction. Through guided instruction and practice, you’ll begin developing palpation skills and learning how to interpret what your horse’s body is telling you—laying the groundwork for safe, effective hands-on care.

Equine Anatomy & Physiology

Learn the key muscle groups and structures that influence movement and comfort, along with common issues and patterns every horse owner should recognize.

Equine Behavior & Communication

Learn to read subtle body language and behavioral cues, helping you recognize signs of tension, stress, physical discomfort, and relaxation.

Assessment Techniques

Participate in guided, hands-on evaluations to identify areas of tightness, soreness, and recurring tension patterns.

Palpation Skills

Develop feel and pressure awareness while learning to recognize the difference between healthy, functional tissue and areas of tension or dysfunction.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Day 2: Hands-On Massage Technique

Day two is all about application. You’ll learn and practice therapeutic massage techniques designed to reduce tension, improve comfort, and support healthy movement. With supervised, hands-on learning, you’ll gain confidence in how to apply each technique appropriately, when to use them, and when not to. By the end of the day, you’ll be able to thoughtfully combine assessment and technique to support your horse’s comfort, mobility, and overall well-being.

Fundamental Massage Strokes

Learn core therapeutic massage techniques—including effleurage, petrissage, friction, compression, and more—through extensive, instructor-guided hands-on practice.

Palpation Skills Continued

Refine your sense of touch and pressure awareness to accurately identify areas of tension, tightness, or soreness, while learning to distinguish healthy tissue from dysfunctional or stressed areas.

Massage Sequences & Routine Building

Learn how to structure a full-body massage session, target major muscle groups effectively, and adapt techniques for different types of horses and their individual needs.

Workshop Completion & Resources

Conclude the workshop with a final Q&A, receive your Certificate of Completion, and receive resources to continue your learning journey beyond the weekend.
